Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone inks MoU with Association of Diagnostic Manufacturers of India


AMTZ and ADMI will work together to identify and add Harmonized System (HS) codes for In Vitro Diagnostics (IVD) products

Recently, the Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone (AMTZ) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Association of Diagnostic Manufacturers of India (ADMI).

The MoU was signed by Dr. Jitendar Sharma, Managing Director & CEO, AMTZ and Dr. D. K. Joshi, President, ADMI, during the quarterly meeting of members of ADMI at Mumbai.

The press release said that the MoU enables members of ADMI with access to improved technological and it is believed that investment opportunities, strategic and long-term partnership between ADMI and AMTZ was also discussed at the event.

AMTZ and ADMI will work together to identify and add Harmonized System (HS) codes for IVD products. This, according to the release, will enable easier classification of IVD products and reduce complexity during their trade. ADMI which represents companies from the Indian IVD industry will be setting up an office at AMTZ.

ADMI will also be contributing towards the proposed National Medical Device Promotion Council to promote industry and assist with trade barriers. Kalam Institute of Health Technology (KIHT) which is currently hosted by AMTZ will partner with ADMI to enable technology transfer, focused research & development in the IVD sector.

This partnership is expected to nurture and promote the standards of the IVD industry in India.
