In a bid to help Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and start-ups create new global brands and successful products through innovation, an Industrial Design Conclave will be organized in Hyderabad on June 29-30, 2017 on the occasion of the World Industrial Design Day.
The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is organizing the event in partnership with the Design Centre’s of IITs-Hyderabad, Bombay, Delhi, Kanpur and Guwahati besides the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. The event is being hosted by IIT Hyderabad at its Campus at Khandi near Sangareddy.
The Theme of the conclave is New Product Development. The objective is to disseminate actionable knowledge that people can use and apply immediately in their workplace to come up with new products, improve existing products and to use design to retain market standing. This will help them move up the value chain.
According to the release, the two-day conclave will be conducted in highly interactive format through structured presentations and workshops and aims to disseminate actionable knowledge that people can use and apply immediately in their workplace for conceiving new products and improving existing products.
Dr. Anil Kakodkar, President of National Academy of Sciences, India, Chairman, Rajiv Gandhi Science and Technology Commission, and also the Chairman of Technology Information, Forecasting and Assessment Council and Shri Surendra Nath Tripathi, Additional Secretary and Development Commissioner, Ministry of MSME, Prof U. B. Desai, Director, IIT Hyderabad, are among the speakers who will be addressing the conclave.
MSMEs, designers, industry representatives in business strategy, design, development and innovation, design faculties and students can attend the conclave. The participants will get an opportunity to learn about various aspects of business development such as creating new user-friendly products and services, customizing products and services for emerging markets. The two-day workshop will also help the attendees to understand where and how to integrate design in their business.
