The Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IITH) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with three Taiwanese research institutes, National Yunlin University of Science and Technology, Central Taiwan Science Park Bureau and The Hsinchu Science Park Bureau, to facilitate academic and technology interchange between the two nations.

The MOU signed between the institutes is expected to boost academic, technology research and developments (R&D), and facilitate cultural exchange between the two countries.

These collaborations aim to propel Taiwan’s higher education towards internationalization, while integrating the island’s competitive edge in software and hardware to increase international research.
IITH is a top India research institute and its R&D talent has even attracted attention from Japan and other governments. The Japanese government is actively building an India-Japan partnership framework and providing IITH with the necessary R&D costs and services.

To encourage innovation, IITH established its first research park in 2016, and has set up three other incubation labs, IC research and design, and health centres.
It is hoped through the MOU signed between Taiwan-India that the two countries can strengthen technology and industrial partnerships, and that more than 100 Indian engineers will be able to visit Taiwan annually.
Research institutes anticipate international talent participating in the exchange program will better understand the other nation\'s market conditions, expand business opportunities, and promote R&D collaboration when visiting the other nation.
