Cipla to market Eli Lilly’s diabetes drug Basaglar

Cipla will market and distribute Basaglar, the once-daily insulin glargine therapy for the treatment of patients with type 1 & 2 diabetes above two years of age.
Cipla Limited has partnered with Eli Lilly and Company, a 100% subsidiary of Eli Lilly and Company, a global multinational pharmaceutical leader, for the marketing and distribution of Lilly’s Basaglar (insulin glargine injection) in India.

Under this agreement, Lilly’s Basaglar that is manufactured by Lilly will be marketed and distributed in India by Cipla. Cipla expects to start commercializing Basaglar in India by end of the year 2018.
